Emotional Beat Spectrum

Assuming higher beat frequencies feel more agitating, we map temperament behavior to emotional descriptors for performance practice.

Spectrum mapping

\(E = \gamma_1\,\mathrm{z}(b_3)+\gamma_2\,\mathrm{z}(b_5)\)

Low \(E\): tranquil/clear. Mid \(E\): luminous/urgent. High \(E\): dazzling or agitated (major), anguished or feverish (minor).

Minor counterparts to bright-major states

Bright-major “intense sunshine” has minor analogues: silver moonlight (low agitation), storm-lit melancholy (mid), and nocturnal fever (high).
